PIcs of my new nano!
I finally got my nano set up this morning. I built it from a 20 gallon. I made the hood and base out of pine. I wanted a nano that was all self-contained.
Here are the specs:
13 gallons
5" sand bed
25 lbs of live rock
2 24 watt T5s. One light is 6000K the other is a pure actinic.
2 led mood light
190 gph return pump
Right now it just has some snails in it. I think I will stock it with a couple of clowns, but other then that I am not sure.

Thank you. I like it too. I may change the rock around a bit though.

Looks nice. Rearranging the rock may be a good idea. You want flow to be able to pass through and around it to help keep detrius out of it.

It has been up for a couple of weeks now and is doing well. I will try to post a top down pic when I get a chance. I put a couple of clowns in it and a blood shrimp. It also has some mushrooms, recordia, tree coral and some buttons. everything seems to be going well.

The tank looks great. I just had to break down my 75 due to a move and it's been an entire 7 days am I'm already planning on doing a nano. The hood and base give it a finished look. Do you know if there is anywhere that sells setups with a base and hood similar to yours?
Thanks,
Stephanie

Welcome to TRT Steph2039!
I'm not aware of anyone that sells stands and canopys for the little tanks. My husband made a stand and canopy for my 5.5 with out to much trouble. Possibly a handyman or carpenter in your area could build one for you.

dobejazz, thanks for the advice (and the welcome) I do love the look of your tank, but since I have no clue who could build a base and canopy for me, I decided to go with the open top 9 gallon cadlights tank. My 75 had a canopy and looked very nice, but I decided to do something a little different with my new tank.
Thanks again,
Stephanie

Very Nice
The reason I go with my 12gal nano aquapod because I can't find the stand and canopy like yours for the other small tank.
Looks very nice. I like it.
My tank has a fan cause of hot lights (little noisy) - how's yours? Did you cut some holes in the back of your canopy?
