Pics of Custom Canopy --- finally

I finally have a few pics of the custom canopy Doug from Aquatico built for me. He built the shell to my specs and I added all the guts.

This first pic is of the canopy front as it sits ontop of the Minibow

This pic is the back of the tank. Notice the "fish netting" which would be used to keep any jumpers inside the tank. But I don't have any fish so no real worries there.

This pic is the two pieces (custom section and Minibow front section) off the tank next to each other. When put on the tank it's just a snug fit.

This view is inside the custom canopy section. 2 x 28 watt 50/50 bulbs from Hellolights. Water proof endcaps. 3 1/2" AC fan. Parabolic Reflector.

Nice canopy Charles! How's the fan as far as noise? Is that the "quiet" Orion fan you mentioned?

My canopy is a bit noisy with the fan I have. I think that part of the problem is the hole for the fan is a tad small. I am going to try and get a smaller, less noisy fan in the coming weeks.

That is the quiet fan from Orion. Only 19db compared to RS at around 28db.

Check out your opening size and see if you can match an Orion fan to that size --- hopefully one that is much quieter. If you need any help w/ this let me know.

I was begining to wonder if anybody really checked out this thread. Many, many people have asked to see a pic and then when I post some nobody responds.

The canopy works good enough I don't even have to turn on the fan. Temp remains 79.0 - 80.0 On a really hot day inside the house it might go as high as 81.0

I had the fan comming on w/ the lights but there was so much evaporative cooling that the 50 watt heater couldn't keep up.

If you look really close in the third pic you can see the temp at 80.1 In that pic the Minibow behind it is the crab tank, The reef is out of the pic to the right but you can see the temp probe wire going off in that direction. I guess I could have moved my lunch cooler before taking the pic.
