pH regulators?

In doing my water tests I noticed that my water is currently closer to 7.8 than 8.2, which is supposedly more ideal for a saltwater reef tank (please correct me if I'm wrong).
I was reading about pH regulators, namely the "Aquarium Pharmaceuticals PROPER pH 8.2", which regulates your tank's pH for you.
Does anyone use anything like this, and what do you think of it? I'm waiting to buy any until I get some real-life reviews.
Thanks!

I don't believe that product is intended to be used in marine tanks. I could be wrong, of course...

do a search for Ph Controllers and there should be a ton of threads for you. A lot of people are using AC Jr's and ReefKeeper2's right now.

Well I know it's meant for reef tanks - it's recommended on my water test kit (of course it's the same brand though which is why I'm reluctant).

i would wait to buy that until someone more knoweldgeable pops in.

I'll try to help with the little that i know

1. Ph can be affected by CO2 ( i think) like if you have a lot of people in the room the ph goes down becuase of everybody breathing, houses closed up in winter and ph can go down. SO id there a window near the tank you can open to get better air exchange on the tank? that may help

2. Can you measure your alkalinity ( KH/DKH/ALK) those are different ways of saying mostly the same thing but different test kits read differently.

3. Measure Calcium - those two things go together and balance like a seasaw to work in our systems. They also can have an affect on the ph in a tank.

4. What kind of flow do you have in your tank.

All that said I dont think you ph is too terrible

what I know is as soon as you start messing with your pH, you open a can of worms

I have tried that stuff, and many others designed to do the same thing
but they were only temporary fixes

try to get more gas exchange with the water, and you may see the pH raise

I was warned against using any PH up/down/holds in my nano, so I just let it be. Its also around where yours is.
