Question

own a MINI JET 606?

for those out there who use a MINI JET 606 on their nano cube 12, since it is an adjustable pump, how much water flow do you allow, do u do the full amount or just the minimum? or what would you suggest?
thx. -don

I have used those on other nano's and find it best just to rip out the sliding peice that adjusts the flow all together. Even with it "opened" all the way it still restricts the flow a little.

I ripped it out too. I also used my dremel to make the slots larger where the water intake is. Didn't do much, but helped some.

yeah my minijet seems to be working fine, the temp of the water seems to have gone down about a degree and its much quieter than the stock pump... usually all i can hear are my fans. i also have a small rio 90 in the first chamber facing back towards the front of the tank for added water flow. everything seems to be doing just fine!

hey whats up skilter.... with the rio in the first.. does that not affect the filtration.. "pushing out when the other is trying to pull in"

I installed the JBJ replacement pump..still gets up to about 80-81 towards end of 4 hour light cycle. "stock pump sucks!" I ordered a mini606 and some line loc to make a dual return. I still have my maxijet400.. will use as backup. I think with the mini606 and the dual return flow will work out fine. see attached file for pic of return idea
