I couldn't afford and RO/DI combo right now, but I did get just the DI. Is that enough?

You could just turn the back of the Nano into a Fuge. I havent had to do a water change since, just keep harvesting chaeto.

It's a refugium. Putting in live rock rubble in the back compartments instead of filter media. I personally dont so not sure the process of doing one. My walmart doesnt have ro/di water unit either I just get the purified gallons of water and use that. Havn't had a problem yet.

OKAY! Here are the pics of my tank-now 5 days old. I got 4 hermits and 4 snails.

I can't wait to fill it up! With fish. and a shrimp. and coral. This is going to be addictive.

your tank is only ready for dead critters after 5 days....

You may not know who Eric Borneman is yet, but he has mucho respecto from the masses when it comes to reef tanks. Check out a thread on cycling your tank.

Cool

Just in case anyone is thinking I'm that dumb, I don't plan on getting any other livestock for at least 1 month.
Everybody rest easy, and thanks for caring.

Thanks for the reading gwen. It was very helpful! He seems to really know what he's talking about.
