THe only thing holding me up is the tank. It is still two weeks out and coming fron Arizona. DIY the stand and canopy. Once I get the tank I will order the rock. As soon as I can post a pic I will.

LPS and leathers. I was going try some SPS at the top of the tank. Also I have a friend who is successfully keeping a clam under les lighting, not sure if I should the clam but would really like to have one. I am hoping to have pic in a month. In the mean time hear is a pic of my current tank. Went on Vacation and my nieghbor was maintaning the tank. He told me his son played with my light timer and I returned home to a green mess. It is starting to clear up. THe lights were on 14 hour and I don't know how many days. The three anemones were freebies and the Xenia was also a free. The hammer was a rescue from LFS $6. He is already looking better. These are my fist corals. Jus trying to get my feet wet slowly.

That tank looks pretty good so far.
Yea going on vacation really sucks. Even if you get a seasoned reefer to look after it something always goes wrong.

Hi and welcome to TRT. Nice tank.
There are a couple items on your list that I would look a little closer at. The Mag 2 seems a little underpowered. You can get powerheads that put out more than that. I would prolly use a Mag 5 and put a ball valve on it in case I needed to turn it down. I'm also not sure about the AquaC Urchin. I've never owned one but everyone I've ever seen wasn't pulling too much out.

I currently run a AquaC Remora and it works very well. As for as the pumps the Mag2 is 250gph at 4ft plus I already own them. I also have extra powerheads if neaded. I am also going to run 2 Mag2 1 for return line and the other on a closed loop.

Yes, going on vacation is nerve racking when it's suppose to be relaxing. It's the only thing I really don't like about keeping a reef. I can't really go away from my reef and feel really comfortable.
But, the way I look at it, is I get much more enjoyment from keeping the reef everyday than a few weeks of vacation here and there. Just a few days ago, I was seriously considering giving up the hobby again exactly because of the vacation thing. But then I thought about how often I actually go on vacation.

After many, many years of keeping reef tanks my last vacation was the only one I really felt confidant nothing was going to happen.
I accomplished this by moving my entire Nano tank over to a friends house (fellow reefer) for the week. That way it got constant attention.
Having someone come over to look at it is just not the same. If you can move you Nano to somebody elses house for your vacation I highly recommend it. You will definatly have a more relaxed vacation and in my case it took less than two hours before and after the vactation to accomplish the moving process.
