So is it not a good idea to order LR online? I just put in an order for 20lbs of LS (and some other goodies) so I should have a good amount of it.

20lbs of ls should be fine I have that in a 10 gal not a problem.

As for Live Rock I like to go to the LFS to hand pick my rock. This way you can have an idea of how you can place your rock when you purchase it. If you cant get the live rock cured you will be sitting with an tank of rock for a good 6 months before you should really add anything. I took a 5 gallon bucket to my LFS this way it stayed wet the ride home (less died off) You can also purchase LR on line also I never have but maybe some one that has had good luck can give you a website of a good place to purchase it.

I had ordered live rock twice before online from Drsfosterandsmith.com

The rock was very nice, and the price was good, but since its out of the water for 2 days, I had to re cure it again in a rubber maid container with a power head and a heater. The stink was so bad for the first week.

They sell live rock via mail order 2 ways, cured and uncured. The cured will have some die off and take about 2 weeks before levels drop, the uncured will take a lot longer.

If you go this route, make sure you get like a 10 or 20 gallon rubbermaid or simalir container and a lid. The lid will keep the stink in pretty good.

My rock took about 2 weeks before the ammonia, and nitrite dropped to zero in the containers. I also did a water change every couple of days.

If you buy live rock online, it will come with directions on how to cure it.

Price it out online vs the store and see. You will prob pay more at the local store, but u wont have to go thru the mess of curing it again.

I never have seen the inside of a 12G Aquapod where could you put one? I would be a good idea to have one. I have a Skilter filter/skimmer on my 10 gallon tank. I had to beef up the skimmer with a whisper air pump and a coralife wooden air stone to make it work. I also have seen very small air powered skimmers at my LFS that does fit into small spaces.

There is a good bit of room in the back of Aquapod, they have a few empty chambers back there to put stuff in.

Nice Tank!!! I would keep the sponge out. Can't wait to see it with the sand, water and LR.

Yes and you may want to look into some phos-guard to put in the same place as your charcoal. That will help keep the phosphates low during your cycle process

I finally got around to start up my 12 Gallon Aquapod tonight.
Have about 15 Lbs of live rock, and about 2" of fine grade sand.

I love the look of this tank, and the false back where you can hide everything. I have the heater in the first chamber, and the pump in the 4th chamber. Not running any carbon or Bio media balls

Tank is still a bit hazy but starting to clear up now.
