Question

New Guy - 1st post

I finally bit the bullit and bought a 12 gal nano cube from JBJ. It looks like a good product, and for teh price it looked great.

Anyway, It has argonite sand and water (1.022 salinity) and nothing else. I will be getting some live rock tomorrow and was wondering how much to get and also what kind? My LFS has 3 kinds, Cultured, Fiji, and Tonga. The prices seem good (comparable to mail order).

I'm not even thinking on what fish to get (that will come later, much later). The kit came with ceramic rings, bio balls, carbon, and foam filter media. Do I keep all of these in the filter box?

Thanks for your input.

Roger

btw, this nano thread is sometimes low on traffic, you might want to consider DBL posting in generalreefforums

the filter media is up to you some dont like bio balls(same with ceramic rings) and use a couple Lbs of rock instead most only use carbon to polish the water for a small amount of time so id say leave it out for now if not indefinatly. is it going to be fish only with live rock? if not like you want to dabbel with corals etc most of us have our salinaty at some think like 1.024.
