Todays meeting was alot of fun. I enjoyed meeting all that attended and got a special lesson on aquascaping, compliments of Charles with Nicoles new Nano. Nicole and her family were very warm hosts and those attending were very welcoming to a newcomer. I really enjoyed the meeting and thanks alot guys for saving me the nice frag at the Fish Garden. I was also able to pickup a couple other nice frags there as well. Special thanks to Nicole and family for their hospitality and Charles for making things interesting. Hope to see you again next meeting.

Hey RickO!

Great meeting! Wish you could have made it. Lots of fragging, trading and "fixing" my tank Our group purchase was a yellow Turbinaria which Charles fragged for everyone. The Fish Garden has an orange Ricordea rock. It was hard to tell exactly how many there were so I counted mouths...9. He has $48 on it but you get the member discount. It very pretty and deff worth the drive.

Thanks to all of you that made the long drive. Bob,Charles and Sammy-nice to see yall again. Ray and Brian, very pleased to meet you both.

It was a lot of fun and I look foreward to yours in November, Rick!!!

I forgot

to tell about Braincorals giant GSP rock he brought! The thing prolly weighed 5+ lbs. and was covered!! I never thought I would see a man with a chisle and hammer slamming away in my kitchen. Im always so delicate (or try to be) in my fragging. Not Charles! He means business!! "You want this huge, solid rock into 5 pieces. No problem. BAM!!!!" Then out came the power tools...his dremmel with a special cutter. He so nicely demonstrated how to frag several items (lobophelia, frog spawn and cabbage leather) from my main ,some of which I was able to share. Bob, official holder, was lucky to get away with all of his fingers in tact!!

All in all, I think it was a great get together. Lots of coral and tank talk, laughing with new friends and enjoying something we all have in common.

Kids had a great time,too.

Next time, some of you that are new to reefing should come. Both Ray and I, tried to give away Xenia and Anthelia but no one would take it

A BIG THANKS to Nicole for hosting this meeting. What a great time we had. In keeping with the concept of cheap frags for Nano's all frags traded for $5.00 or less !!! I had $5.00 go in and out of my pocket so many times it was hard to tell but I think I just broke even for this adventure.

It was fun fragin up all the corals. I like using the chisel --- gets a little frustration out. And thanks to Bob for his ultimate trust by holding the corals while the dremel tool took a couple of close passes by his fingers

And Nicole was very gracious letting us dip into her main tank so we could frag a few more corals. I got a nice little leather frag(cabage ??) for $2.00 who could ask for more.

Ray was also very nice bring in that monster rock covered in Mettalic Star Polyps. We let Nicole have the big piece. It proped up one side of her Nano with a nice face of polyps. I'm not sure what we were thinking Nicole --- we should have just moved your tank in the process.

The FIsh Garden was (as always) a very plesant stop. They have redone a few tanks to add more frag/coral space. If you haven't been there in a while stop by --- like always you won't be sorry.

To give a recap --- here is what I ended up taking home from the meeting.

two decent frags of Mettalic Star Polyps
Frag of Green Hydnophora
Frag of LEather (cabage ??)
Frag of Yellow Turbinaria
Peppermint Shrimp
TetraTech 300
TetraTech Heater module

And I don't think I actually paid anything for all this --- I just traded a few frags out of my main tank.

Sam --- Big bummer --- my canopy was about 1/4" to small to fit the TetraTech. I tried and tried and no matter what modification I made it just wasn't going to fit. It fit in the tank and would have been awesome --- the canopy just wasn't going to go back on.

I think I will make a new canopy sometime in the future. With a little redesign should work like a charm.

Awesome meeting and can't wait for the next one ---- Rick I was thinking Sunday, Nov 23rd at 12:00 Noon --- It's still the 4th weekend of the month but it's also the weekend before Thanksgiving --- Think about it and we'll talk later.

Thanks again to Nicole for hosting the meeting. I definitely enjoyed meeting other people who get excited about tiny glass boxes of water.

The montipora frags and the turbinaria are doing nicely under the metal halide in my 29g. I hope that bright purple montipora keeps its coloring. The star polyps and cabbage leather are in the 12g, but the star polyps have not come out yet.

Hopefully by the next meeting I'll have some stuff to trade, possibly some nice finger leather pieces and all the anthelia that a newbie could want.

Great Meeting!
Nicole-Thanks again to you and Clay for hosting. I really enjoyed enjoyed seeing your tanks and watching Charles go fraggin' ape in your kitchen.

I came away from the meeting with about 5 great new frags for my nano! Mostly thanks to Charles and the the filter I traded. Charles, I know you will make the filter work in the future...time to modify the lights!

Thank You!

Thank you Nicole and Clay!

As was stated earlier in this thread, thanks for letting us frag, chisel and saw in your wonderful kitchen!

All of us had a great time! And my daughter enjoyed the meeting and meeting several members of your family too!

Thanks again for being such a wonderful host and hostess!

The only unfortunate thing about the meeting was that I didn't have a lot of time to gawk at and enjoy your 72 G bowfront! And your 10G in the kitchen is a sweet setup!

Bob
