nano reef project just started.

so i'm doing a 2.5 gallon nano reef (kinda) its actually larger because it has a 4 gallon refugium.
-not much in the refugium yet...
-tank set up is ugly right now too...
the tank ran for a week, then I built the refugium tonight, and added more live rock, and got a snail and a mushroom coral with the live rock.
ordered new lights for it tonight as well. heres some pics of it so far.
any tips or advise is greatly welcomed, I'm new into the salt tank world, all 5 of my other tanks are African cichlids.
heres my light 24w50/50

Welcome to TRT! It's really hard to start out in a tank so small (the bigger the easier). You'll have to be on top of it .Keep it toped off with RO/DI water so the salinity stays the same. The filter on the side, you can take the media out of it and use it as curculation(the live rock is your filter.)Good luck with it and get a good test kits to check.Looks good so far!

Looks like a good start! Keep up with the water changes and I'd bet you'll have a thriving little tank in the near future. What do you hope to keep?

Looks like a really cool little tank, and a great start!

The best advice I can give is go slow, test allot, add stuff slowly, topoff frequently with RO/DI water, and don't overstock

yeah, thanks I will go slow. also I work at a local pet shop in the fish department. so I have access to everything.
not sure what i'm going to keep yet. probably just a bunch of soft corals, maybe one fish.
also I do plan on removing the hang on the back after I get more live rock and another powerhead.
(also the water level is low in the pics cause I ran out of salt- getting more today)
