Nano Lights

Hello everyone

Just curious if any of you have ever upgraded the lights that came with your Nano? I would love to know if I could could put really nice lights on it and if I need to change the whole lid set up. Do you think I would just need to take off the cover and get a stand for the halides?

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Tami

I need to look more into this too (also for a softie tank) since I don't know much of anything about lighting/bulbs/wattage, etc.

Just so I purchase the right thing.... Do I only need to buy one of the kits, and keep my current light on there too? Or Kelli did you buy 2? Since you have an additional 4 lights. If so... should I go with 1 10000k daylight and 1 actinik blue? Or should I do the 50/50 for one and what for the other? What combo do you reccomend? I am not really sure. Sorry this is all new to me.

Thanks again .... Tami

No problem I'm glad to help if I know the answer
I just purchased 1 kit and squeezed the 2 new bulbs in next to the original bulbs. Mine is an older model Nano Cube DX so I'm not sure if your is the same. Currently I have 2 10k 1 50/50 and 1 actinic.

can someone point me in the right direction for a light upgrade for a 10 gallon tank, it isnt a 'nano brand - with the cool hood, it is a regular glass 20 inch long tank, all i have right now is a regular hood, with a coral life 50/50 N.O. light (one) -- I am having a hard time finding a new hood to put on it with appropriate lighting to have corals. I am not ready to do a DIY yet LOL, thanks in advance!!

Use one of these. I am very happy with mine, and keep LPS/SPS.
