I have never had that happen when moving from one tank to another. Where did the rock and sand come from? Maybe it wasn't as cured as you were told.

Always possible. Most of it is from a newer store, but the rock was pretty far down in one of their display tanks. Their tank was a bit cloudy, but just barely.

The rest of the rock was from my display tank.

I suspect the rock from the lfs. Mine has individual rock bins that are rotated weekly. They have 5 so the 4 and 5 is usually pretty nice clean rock, the others are kinda funky. Guess which ones I pick from?

It was wild how fast this happened. The tank was fine when I got home. 45 minutes later my wife is calling me in because the tank looked very cloudy. Over the next 30 to 45 minutes while testing, it got even worse.

The tank looks about like it did last night before I went to bed. Still a bit cloudy.

I plan on another water change tonight.
