Nano 14 Temp?

What should the temp be at in a 14 gal Nano Cube?

I set it up today and it started out at 80.5 and now is at 81.7.

That seems a bit high, am I right?

What can be done about cooling it, they probably don't make chillers for a take that small.

Thanks;

Steve

A fan can help but honestly 82 F is still fine.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

Well it got as high as 83.7 today. It's concerning me.
Where would you suggest putting a fan in the 14 Gallon BioCube there is very little room in the top as it is and there are already an intake and output fan.?

I might even look at replacing the fan with something that pushes more airflow. What is the temp of the room you are in?

I was looking over at nanotuners... they sell kits that add a light but run cooler that come with 2 50x50x10 fans and an improved heat shield. A higher cfm fan or finding a way to improve you heatshield between lights and tank could be a possible solution. I have never owned one of those tanks so I am having a hard time picturing the hood and what can be done here.

The room stays around 76 to 77 degrees.
I'll look into the alternative lighting ot someone pointed out some small chillers.

Well, you aren't going to find lighting that puts out much less heat. What I was referring to was the fact that if the kits run cooler with 50% more bulbs and 50% more heat being produced, using fans like they do or seeing how they modify the heat shield may shed some light on a cheap fix. I don't think I have seen a nano chiller for less than 220 bucks. They sell upgraded fans for 10 bucks each.

look at nanocustoms.com......they have aftermarkert lighting and fans you can add. i have a 3rd row of 24 watt lights added and 2 fans....i keep a heater in my tank and the tank stays pretty steady at 78-80 degrees (although i do keep it pretty cool in my house). i have the 14 gal biocube and the lights work wonders, all ofthe corals and livestock seem to love it.
