My JBJ Nano busted!
Has anyone ever heard of the glass on a 12 gal JBJ just busting for no reason? I LOST EVERYTHING! I think I may have saved some polyps. I went to my apartment on a Saturday and fed my fish. Everything was doing great. I didn't go to my apartment for a few days and the next thing I know my roommate called me on Monday and said that the front glass on my tank just busted for no reason on Sunday. Now why he waited 24 hours to call and tell, I don't know. I could have saved more. I can't prove that he had something to do with it busting, but he swears up and down that he didn't touch it. When I got over there, the front glass was busted out like he said except a piece in the center of the front. It looked like the left and right side of the front were busted and not the center. The distributor of the store I bought the tank from is replacing it for me. Since they agreed to do that, I am begining to wonder if that has happened before.

The older models have had a history of the front corners breaking on the nano cubes I had thought it was more a problem on the 24g though. Sorry to hear about your losses

The tank was about a year old. I just found out that my new tank came in today. I'm getting excited about setting it up. Here are a couple of pics from my old tank. They are bad pics cause they were taken from a camera phone.

"fragile" is not a word you want to use when describing your fish tank. Unfortunately, JBJ's seem to be just that. My LFS has 10g bare tanks for <$10. Not as pretty, but I'd be once bitten twice shy if my tank broke.

my 12 dx cracked in the back. and if i hadnt had a small and an emergency tank close by i would have lost everything myself. Im nervous whenever i move my tank now (mind you its empty) just because of how fragile the cubes are. sry bout your loss.

Yep, typical failure for the nanocube.
The 12 gallons are generally more robust. One thing I have noticed is that it is extremely important that the tank rest on a flat surface with no sharp rocks putting force on the bottom glass of your tank.
It's important to spread out any forces that are placed on glass.
