My custom NANO!!!COMMENTS NEEDED!!!!!

I am a college student so space was an issue. I am planning on building myself a DIY acrylic reef. My question is what thinkness should the acrylic be? 1/4" or 3/8"? The deminsions of the tank will be 24"L x 16-18"D x 12"H. What types of coral could I put under 140 watts of vho?? Im leaning towards xenias and mushroom, maybe an bubble tip anenome, and possibly even a clam of some sort. would a refugium benift any of these species. The only fish I plan on keeping is a pair of true percs(clowns). The flow through the tank will be created by a quite one 3000(700gph) and maybe a small Seio(620gph) . This puts close to 1200 gph through the tank(pressure loss) . Is this a decent amount or do I need more?

1st chamber: pump to supply skimmer(T'd to control flow through the DIY skimmer)500gph

2nd chamber: fuge that is supplied with the outlet from the skimmer. baffles will be placed so there will be 2 layers.

3rd chamber: Quiet one return pump 700gph

There will be a 2" underflow benieth the 2nd chamber because the skimmer pump and skimmer would not be able to handle the quiet one pump

Thank you
William

Here: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/s...fm?pCatId=2124Good list of nano fish.
I've got a Quiet One 3000 for my cls on the nano I'm building on Reefmonkey.com 's buildoff contest. Check it out under the nano forum. Here it is ready to fill with water.
The 3000 might be a bit too much for your setup, as the "sump" on your tank is pretty small, but it does have a suction flow restrictor if you are using it wet.

Oops, I went to take a picture and realized its the 1200 that has a plate that goes over the front with a dial to increase or decrease flow, not the 3000. I ran them both dry and so had to change the suction plates. Sorry about that.
Try it and see how it works, you may have to put a valve on the discharge to throttle it, but maybe not.

I think the two layer idea is pretty good.

Don't ask me, I have 4-55W PC's over a 20L and am setting up a nano (19 gallon) now with 2-36W PC actinics and a 175W MH with 15000K bulb.

DAMMN yardboy thats a lot of wattage!!!whats sitting under those suckers??? Im planning on just putting a 75 w 50/50 vho and a 75w 10k over this tank...that should give me enough wattage to grow almost anything I want.
