So after a brief vacation from reef keeping I'm back with a vengeance. I've made a few minor modifications to a 14 gallon Biocube. No pics at the moment so for now use your imagination. First off I removed the stock pump and added a MJ900 with a Hydor Flo. Then I removed all the bioballs from the second chamber and added another MJ900. For this I used some vinyl tubing and a dremel. THe second MJ has a Hydor device on it as well. You might say that the flow in this little tank is rather chaotic.
The next mod was to remove the stock cover and build a custom canopy . I gutted the old cover and replaced the 10k bulb with another 24W
actinic bulb. Then I added the fans, moonlights, and the 48W actinics to the canopy. Next up was a 70W metal halide retrofit. Sometime this weekend I'll add a small
Kalkwasser drip to the canopy and a refugium in the last compartment. Are you confused yet? Pics to come later.
