My 16 gal nano

Hey fella's I just got a 16 gallon bow front tank about 2 weeks ago, I set it up I got LR and LS right now, 3 pounds of LR only but I am going to get more, The guy at the store said for corals I probally could just get a 15 watt 50/50 bulb I should be set, now Ive been doing research and I dont have a clue if that will work. I have a yellow tailed damsel in there right now just to see if it is fit for a fish and she is doing great. So what about the lighting will a 15 watt bulb work,(im a newb there is something that is sticking out like a cilinder that says 22 watts on it is it 22 + 15 watts?) anways I also have the heat around 80 is this fine or should I lower it?

haha sorry about all the Q:'s please help thanks

What are you going to keep coral wise in your tank? If you stick with mushrooms, some leathers, xenia, anthellia, etc. then the 15W should be fine.

And 80degrees is fine. I keep mine 79-80.

And welcome to TRT!

Off to a good start. Yep, more rock, let your tank cycle..then you can start adding corals.

kappaviss4, you can look local for shrooms possibly. Your LFS, or people in the area who have reef tanks will oftentimes almost give corals away (small amounts) just to get people started. OK, maybe your Local Fish Store won't give corals away, because they are a business. Have you checked to see if there are any aquarium clubs in your area? They are a great resource, especially when starting a new tank. Thanks Neil

you may not want to order from Marine Depot only because of where you live, I'm not sure so dont jump on me but I think they do their shipping out of Anaheim, Califronia

thats really far from you
