Minutes from Nano SIG Meeting

Meeting was called to order by the Nano Sig Administrator, Charles Kuehne at 12 PM Saturday, January 24th at Fuddruckers on Windy Hill.
Members in attendence included Charles, Sam, Patrick, Brian, Ray, Lisa and Justin.
We looked at various Float Switch, Auto Topoff system ideas brought in by various members. Sam agreed to build a prototype switch assembly and help determine the cost so that we can build them in a workshop for the March Nano SIG meeting. Float switch assembly is a universal style assembly and will work with an air driven top off system and/or a powerhead driven system. Excellent suggestions (such as be careful of using a non rigid container for an air driven system) for building the rest of the top off system were discussed as well as ideas for expanding the idea to larger systems or shrinking the top off systems for tiny systems.
Patrick gave us some pointers on the building the Tank Hood and Stand that adorns his nano system, and Charles opened the table up for any Nano Reef related discussions. One discussion was using supplements verses feeding verses kalkwasser verses a "kalk sludge" idea. Topics about lighting a nano reef was discussed (ie MH verses Power Compact) and effects on some Sps corals.
1:30 pm The Nano SIG meeting was adjorned by the Nano SIG Administrator and the entire meeting headed to Cappucino Bay to view possible fragging opportunities.
