Just getting started....

I am just getting started into reefing and I can not decide which aquapod to buy. I am looking at the 24 gallon. I initially wanted the MH one because I wanted a cute anemone for my clown to play in but read some nasty things about when they die. I do not think I want stingers jetted all over the tank. I eventually want a big tank. This is a trial to see if I have patience, time and $$$ to devote to reefing.

Any suggestions?

You might just want to try the 12 gallon w/ the pc's first, there are a lot of costs associated with other things than just the tank and the inhabitants, plus you will get a feel for the time involved (but it is a labor of love!) You could do softies and some lps's with the standard lighting on the Aquapod, so save the mh for a larger tank in the future.

Also, Welcome to The REEF Tank! There are a lot of resources here to help you, you could also post this on the General reef discussion section and get a lot more feedback a lot quicker.

to TRT! Nice to have you aboard.
I have a 9 gallon Odyssea nano, all enclosed system. It's been an intersting venture. I do have to say that the nano has been a learning experience. If I started over again, I would go with a 24 gallon. The bigger the tank, the easier it is to take care (in my opinion). The nine gallon has been a challenge - parameters and the room have been the biggest challenge. I tried to do too many things with the nine gallon and have finally gotten it to where it should be - after 7 months.
Good luck Amy. We hope to see some pics. We like pics here!
This forum is a wonderful place to get answers, make comments, have fun, and find new friends.
