JBJ , Aaua via, or eclipse??

i want to get a nano reef nothing more than 18 gal but prefer a a 10-11 gal. just wondering what everyone thinks about my 3 choices, i like the look of the aqua via but like the built in filtration of the jbj and eclipse not sure if the Via aqua has filtration or not. i know the eclpipse needs to have the lighting upgraded. i want maybe a couple of fish and wahtever corals PC's can support. thanks for the input!

JBJ is coming out with a new Nano Cube deluxe next month. They fixed some of the problems with the original such as the lights. It also will have 2 x 24w pc lights now with colling fans in the hood. They also upgraded the filter to be a true overflow surface skimmer and added a directional return nozzle. May be worth the wait?

I think the JBJ nano cube Deluxe is the best choice for out of box nano reef. The via aqua would be my next choice and may be better as far as being able to add things like a refugium or stonger lighting.

Welcom to TRT!

I would not recommend using the biowheel if you go with an eclipse. You want to have your live rock doing that work (bio filter). The bio-wheel will also increase evaporation.

I love my JBJ, you have to take out the bioballs, and the rings, and 2 spong filters and fill up the back with live rock, but other than that i like it. I didnt go with the eclipse because of the size and shape. Plus i like how i can hide the live rock rubble in the back of the JBJ

the bioballs will spike levels, as well as the ceramic rings. the instructions for the cube tell you to take them out after it is cycled, i never put them in. i would leave in the carbon, and the sponge filters as long as you clean out the sponges every week
