I missed the buildoff!

Hi,

I just registered so I missed the deadline for the NanoReef buildoff ... but I figure there's no harm posting here with a link to the pics of my 6 week old NanoCube 24G on my website:

http://homepage.mac.com/cwserver/PhotoAlbum16.html

Comments welcome ... good or bad!

All the best and I look forward to comparing notes with you guys.

Chris

Only SW tank ... at home.
Will be installing a 110G marine tank at my office by end of month

Also have FW and GF tanks ( 2 x Eclipse 12)
5 months ago we had 1 GF in a 5G "tank" !

As for the Nano challenge ...

Royal Gramma has been "disappeared" for a few days...
Sun Coral is being reclusive (ever since it spawned really)
Fighting with red/brown algae that films over the sun coral and the yellow Gorgonian.
The Gorgonian was very happy that I thoroughly squirted off all the nasty algae coat (covered and white
feeding polpys this morn).
Occasionally the hermit crabs (several varieties) face off with each other. Have lost a few HC's
Hilarious episode with an HC hitching a ride on a snails shell ...and ending up half way up the glass!
It was like a marine elevator with the crab trying to maintain grip whilst the snail endeavoured to
shake off the extra weight. i should of video clipped it!

All other inmates seem happy...

Have discovered Royal Gramma beneath filter sponge!

May have to make a net wall at the back of the Nano to stop him (and Snails) escaping into the back compartments.

Red slime is not algea but Cyanobacteria. Have added a redslime remover to combat this ...

you shouldn't have cyano yet. red algae is normal in the cycling process

Sorry on the loss of your gramma. Can you post some pics of your setup?

Kelli ... it was a false alarm cos the RG had jumped into the filter compartment. Back in the tank proper now. I guess a few days living off arctipods sucked into the overflow didn't hurt.

My tank pics are at http://homepage.mac.com/cwserver/PhotoAlbum16.html

Thanks Kelli ...

I'm winning against the CyanoBact!
I'll let the EasyChem do it's bit for the rest of today and then it's 20% WC and pull the skimmer air tube back out of the water.

If I can save my plate coral somehow (after burning it with proper PH 8.2 a couple of days ago ... then I'll really be back on top).
