How often do we skim?

Hey everyone,
It's been a while since i've posted anything but everything has been going well and i'm all moved into my new 12 gal with no tragedies.
Anyways I was wondering how often everyone runs their protien skimmers. Do you run them only with the lights? Or maybe turn them off for feeding? Can you over do it with the skimmer on all the time? I'd just like to hear everyones feedback on this.

If you're going to skim, I say do it all the time...that will benefit the most. Anytime you skim, you're removing organics...that's a good thing.

All the time. You're removing organics as jeep said, and aerating the water too.

Turning it off during feeding sounds like a good idea. Maybe then i'll even get some food into my fuge instead of the skimmer sucking it all up. Thanks for all the input.
