How many Watts Per Gallon??? (2.5g Nano)

I was thinking about setting up a 2.5 gallon nano reef. How watts per gallong do you think I need? I was between this 18W Coralife PC unit and a 36W Coralife PC unit. Thats about 7.2 vs. 14.4 watts per gallon. I want to be able to grow all types of coral in there. What do you think would be best? Will the 36W make that much of a difference?

I have a 2.5nano. I have 36W in that baby right now. Planning to upgrade to a 70w MH. The more...the merry-er!!!!
