Hi All, I'm new around here. Pics of my 20G Nano

Well here is an update on the tank which is around 9 months old. Tank has only 80L / 20G net of water. I water change twice a week at 25% each. IMO large water changes are the best way to keep the water quality up in such a small volume.
Tank has come a long way since the pics in the begining. Hope you enjoy.

Tank is basically complete. Will grow out a bit. So hopefully i can now sit back and enjoy. May add a few cleaner shrimps again in the months to come.
Cheers

Nice tank. I am very new in to reef tanks. Mind if I ask what is the device under the tank with the LCD that reads 7.89? is it a PH reader?

would you mind providing an equiment used summary. Noticed you had a phosban reactor, etc.

Great looking tank!

HI All,

Thanks for the nice welcome and the thumbs up.

The meter showing 7.89 is a Dupla PH Alpha controller which I can hook up to a CA reactor if i decide to go down that track. This is my tanks LOW PH as the lights would have been on for max 1 hour when the pic was taken. Evening PH is 8.20.

Deltec is a good skimmer. I like the fact that there is no pump in the main display so it keeps the tank looking less packed with pumps etc. Since i run this tank sumpless i place my heater in the skimmer as there is a compartment where you can add a heater or carbon / phosban etc.

Been keeping marine for 15 years now but this is my first nano. Previous tanks include a 300G reef, 200G reef, 100G FO tank, 150G SPS reef and my clown breeding set up which i was raising 400 fry a month. That was a lot of work but rewarding. May go back into clown breeding again, but time will tell.

I got out of large reefs due to the running cost. Electricity in Australia is fairly expensive. Love the nano world, it's amasing what you can do in such a small space. A lot cheaper to set up and maintain and just as impresive.

All the best

Che

No Problems, equipment list as below:-

1. Tank 24x12x16 high
2. Lighting 1 x70W 14K Astralux / 1 x 150W 10K Ushio
3. Skimmer Deltec MCE 600
4. Tunze Tempreture controller hooked up to fan
5. Jager 75W heater
6. Phosban reactor which i use with Phosban and Purigen run of a Eheim 1048 pump.
7. Tunze Water level controller
8. Use a 4 stage RO/DI water for FW top up
9. 7 small power heads in main tank (600L hr each) on timers
10. Dupla Alpha PH controller - not hooked up to control anything just yet.

Dosing with Zeovit amino acids 1 drop daily / Zeovit Iodine 1 drop twice a week. I add Seachem reef buffer to my top up FW and i also add Seachems reef complete (1 cap twice a week). Water change twice a week at 25% each.

Tank parmeters yesterday where as follows:-

KH 6.4 DKH - raising to 7 where i usually keep it.
PH - 8.2
Nitrate - 5 PPM - salifert
PO4 - Nil - salifet
MG - 1300PPM
CA - 420 PPM
Temp 26.5 Deg Cel
SG - 1.027

many thanks and any further questions are welcomed.

Cheers
