Help I think I screwed up my 12 gallon nano?

I recently notice a white spot on my fish. It looked like some type of fungus.
I freaked out and put in a teaspoon full of maroxy. A while later I noticed my recordia coral was all closed up and not looking good. I instantly did a 2.5 gallon water change. I hope this works so that my coral ends up living. What should I do . Any help would be appreciated.

Run carbon and do more water changes ... Like at least another 2 gallon change every day until you see an improvement. Stabilized chlorine oxides are not good for pretty much any reef type coral so you might end up losing some.

Thank you for your reply I did another water change of 2.5 gallons this morning. It might be better to lose single fish than lose all of my corals. Next time this happens I think I should let nature take its course.

You might want to think about a small quarantine tank that you can have running to put your fish in to treat them. You also might want to quarantine any new fish that you get for a week or two to observe them for parasites/sickness...

I learned the hard way and lost some pretty expensive fish... its worth the small investment to set one up if you are going to be having some nicer, pricier fish in your tank other than a damsel.

Good Luck!!

Hello
You can clear-up many types of external parasites by simply giving your fish a 5 minute "dip" in RO water. Your fish can handle the shock, but the parasites cannot and just fall off....HTH & Good Luck!
