Flow in 12G NC

I have a maxi jet 900, that returns water into the tank at 230 gph, but I think the Y-connector and flare nozzles reduce it greatly...Should I remove the Y-connector and replace it with a hydor FLO?

i assume you dont want to put a small powerhead in the tank.so i would get a pump that moves about 350 gph and make or buy a double nozzle with a wider Y point them opposite ways. i have a 10g all glass reef and i currently have 2 powerheads inside tank and live rock no filtration at all.
