Question

flat worm exit for 3.5 gal nano?

has anyone had any luck eliminating a flat worm problem in a nano tank? I've been removing them with an eyedropper but its getting kind of tedious and not really resolving the problem. I've heard flat worm exit works good but i don;t know if a little tank like this can handle it.

thanks in advance

Hi Clint

I have used it in a 5.5 nano. I used the recomended dose, and them ran a canister filter filled with carbon for about 4 hours after. *Not 1 Loss*----The key is the carbon/filter. The flatworm exit itself is safe---its the toxins that come out of the dead flatworms that will wipe your tank out. You will be fine---Just make sure you run plenty of carbon after you dose, and follow up with a water change....Best of Luck!------Anthony

PS: Suck up all the dead worms you can as you see them dying, this will limit the toxin output.

thanks for the opinion,
do you think that putting a fresh carbon/filter cartridge in my penguin hang on should be enough?

I am not sure----I think the directions say to use 1lb.----I used 4 carbon pads in a canister filter--but I was probably over-paranoid. I am sure the more the better though. Could you fit two carbon cartridges in the penguin?
