ya the nano fission skimmer is crap. its releases tons of bubbles and hardly skims. Get a real skimmer.

What bio load do you have? Seems like all you would need is a good HOB filter or two for a 7 gallon. I just set up a 20 gallon fowler tank and I just used to HOB's for filtration. But I only have two fish for the moment.

The fission skimmers are a waste of money - I got one and sent it back. My LFS said to use a small bag of Purigen instead of skimming in my 12-gallon nano. So far it works fine but I only have 2 small fish in there.

Got the purigen bag too. If you get one make sure it is for the saltwater. It comes for fresh and saltwater.

I had the fission nano skimmer for about two weeks before I gave up on it. Waste of Money. I have a 10 gal display and a 10 gal fuge/sump. I got the tunze nano skimmer and I am very pleased. No micro bubbles what so ever. Skims great I am very pleased. If you have a sump I would recommend it.
