Eclipse System 6 Questions

Hello All,

I just got an eclipse 6, have about 1.5 inches sand and about 12 lbs lr in it. I have 2 question.

1. Light upgrade, good source for a 32 or 28 watt pc retro

2. filteration, what should I run in the eclipse filter

Also any other suggestions would be great, I picked this thing up at petco for 18 bucks on a return and just couldnt resist it lol.

Thanks

How could you pass it up?!?! I got my retro kit at marinedepot.com. I have a 5 gallon, and I seem to be doing fine just running a small whisper hang-on filter. I'd eventually like to get a skilter (dr.s foster and smith have a few). As long as you do frequent water changes, you would probably do just fine with a regular filter (just make sure you run phosphate-free carbon- sometimes the carbon that comes with the filter bag isn't...) Good Luck!

Once your tank is cycled COMPLETELY, you really do not need any filter media. The live rock is all you need, just keep the filter running for water movement. The live rock and sand does wonders.....Do a Yahoo search on "The Berlin System" this should give you some insight on a filterless system...HTH...Anthony
