Distilled water for nano or RO/DI?

Hi, Im starting a 12 gallon Aquapod. Awesome tank so far.

I have a question in regards to the water I should use.
Since this is a nano, would I be better off investing in a RO/DI unit,
or use Distilled water?

Since I plan on doing 10% weekely or 20% Bi Weekly water chnages, I figure picking up a gal or 2 of distilled water is not that cost significant.
Might actually be cheaper to just purchase the distilled since u eliminate the cost of the Ro/Di unit and filter replacement cost. Also a RO/DI unit seems to waste a lot of water.

SO I guess it boils down to what water is better?

I know distilled water is very pure, but im not sure if the process gets out most of the impurities like a Ro/DI unit can

Thanks in Advance...

It all depends on cash flow.

OR

I started with distilled and worked my way to RO/DI

For me it was all about the cash flow

I spent Months buying RO/DI water for my 24g It was OK for 1 small tank but went with my own RO/DI unit when I added a 95g tank

Its probably prudent to airate either for a while before you mix it with salt. I can't follow the chemistry, but that is what I have read for RO. It is nice to have it on demand though. You can get stuff to hook it right up to the faucet.

Think of it as the difference of renting an apartment or owning a condo. In the end the money you put toward a condo is yours.
