Cycling my 12G
Here's the Nano Cube I've been waiting on, I finally put the live sand, live rock, and water in there...Tell me what you think of the aqauscape and how it looks. I'm wondering whether I should keep the light on (a normal day/night schedule) or should I just leave it off during the cycling process? What should I do with the output, should I leave it how it is or attach that Y-connector (seen below)? Any suggestions or ideas for me...?

Aight, well for now, I'm running the day lights on about 8-10 hours a day, and the LED Moonlights on at night, once algae starts building up, I'll slowly start keeping the lights off for longer periods of the day, until I'm able to get some cleaners.

The bacteria you want grows faster in the dark, cleaners can be added when the cycle is over Nitrites and ammonia at zero.

Having rubble rock in your compartment is not such a good idea because you already have rock in your tank. It'll eventually build up nitrates like bio balls do.See if you can fit a skimmer in there.

Aight, after the cycling I'll take the LR out, and prolly 1 of the 2 sponges, or maybe both, I'll maybe look into a skimmer, what about the lights???

Yeah, I heard from a few that the bacteria I want to grow in the tank, grows better in the dark, so leave them off, but I also heard that you should try and keep them on 6-8 hours a day, to help the algae bloom start up sooner than later. So I'll just do my own thing, like you said people have different opinions.

What about water changes, I heard no, because it may remove necessary bacteria for the cycling process, so I heard until the process is over, don't water change. What do you guys suggest?
