what would you all suppose would be good coral to start off with ? I use to have zoos and a candy cane but since I am doing a coral only what would be good coral besides zoos, candy, and shrooms?

It is going to depend a whole lot on the lighting and the size of the tank. Hammer, frogspawn, and torch corals are cool but they need a good bit of room around them as a buffer. Some all-in-one nano tanks will let you keep montis and birdsnest and such, while others will not based on the type of lighting.

As anyone can see from my pictures, I have become a colorful montipora fanatic, and would love to fill a tank with the various encrusting species. Which reminds me, I won 6 more of the Reef Empire auctions over the weekend and need to post pictures of my newest corals soon.

A 10 gallon ricordia garden would be very cool.

I have actually thought of buying a couple of the nano tanks to play with. I was going to do one in all zoanthids, and another one in all ricordias. For some reason my wife seems to think that 3 tanks in the house is enough right now.

Congrats on your first coral. That is the first step down this long dark path of addiction.
