Cleaning Crew

I have been reestablishing a 12 gal tank. About 2 weeks ago I added 20 lbs Tonga rock and have 2 or 3 snails that appeared this morning. All my levels are good, calcium is at 420 but I am not sure if it should be higher. In the next day or two I want to add a cleaning crew. I am not sure what to get. Any suggestions? When I had my tank before I just had snails.
Also I used to wait 3 or 4 weeks before adding anything new, do I still have to wait that long or can I add maybe every two weeks as long as the levels are good?

Calcium seems fine to me. What kind of cleaners were you thinking of? crabs, shrimp?

In general a few astrea, ceriths and/or nasarius snails will be fine. Stay away from the blue legs.....they will eat snails if hungry. A few two or thre red leg hermits may be ok

Maybe a shrimp or emerald crab would be cool. So would a serpent star.

I thought maybe 3 more snails and maybe a hermit crab or two, I guess red legs then. But I am partial to shrimp, what would be the least aggrssive kind?

Pe3permint shrimp are cheap, but i never had luck keeping them in my 110. I think things eat them...may be fine in a nano.

Cleaner shrimp would be a nice addition or a blood fire as well. Either are well manered and make nice things to look at!

Thank you. I am going to the LFS in the next couple of days to pick up snails, 3 or 4, hermit crabs, 2 or 3. I may wait a bit on the shrimp as I just found out my old "dealer" has opened a store nearby.
I use to wait about 4 weeks to add a new animal but can I add any sooner than that as long as every thing is OK? This time I was hoping to have 2 corals as well. I never had much luck with corals but maybe this time....

I'd give it the 4 weeks to finish the cycle...just to be sure!

avoid coral banded shrimp, mean little critters. I like the sally lightfoot crabs but those can be iffy. Mine never bothered a sole but have heard others say they killed shrimp and small crabs. I had both and didnt lose anything.
