My tank has been set up for about 2 1/2 weeks now, readings are as follows...
Salinity - 1.022
PH - 8.3 - 8.6
Alk - 3.2
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 0 - 12.5 (closer to 12.5)
I bought the LR from a LFS already cured and now I am having some
algae Blooms. Also on one LR is green plant algae (like long, thin palm leaves). I wanted to pick up some snails, crabs and maybe a shrimp on Monday when the LFS gets its next shipment, do you think it should be ok or should I wait another week or two?
Also, what should I do for a HIGH PH? I am pretty sure it is between 8.3 and 8.6, but 8.6 is pretty high, no? The exact reading seems to be 8.3 sometimes and 8.6 at others. Two days ago, it was definitely 8.3, and today it looks closer to 8.6 on the card. Is it just the lighting? I haven't touched the tank between the two readings, didn't add anything, didn't feed anything, just had the lights on.
