Bubbles in tank...AARRGHHH

I've got a question...my CPR bak-pak releases tons of bubbles into my tank. Is there any way other than a bubble trap to stop that? I just don't want to fork over the cash if I don't have to...you know?

Dont waiste your money on the bubble trap. I got one and didn't think it worked very well. How long have you had it? Do you shut valve for air when you dose if you dose? You can try putting a piece of sponge in the return tube, did yours come with a sponge when you got it? Not sure what really to tell you, I just deal with it. I don't get allot but a little sometimes can drive you crazy.

Also if you do use a sponge make sure to clean it once a week or more, depends on how it looks.

Jim,
thanks for the info...I won't waste ,my money on it...the bubbles only come out when I feed or have my hands in the tank now, and they go away in about an hour...they seem to be lessening with time. Also, I noticed you are in cincy. My brother lives in centerville...you got any coral frags to sell? I'm always looking for some nice SPS frags. I'm going to be visiting him pretty soon to see my new niece, maybe on my way back up I could get some from you, if you have any corals, and if you're willing to sell and all. I don't want to be pushy in any way, I just wondered.

Also, does your CPR change the bubble consistency frequently? Mine seems to change a lot...it always is skimming...but sometimes its filled completely white, and other times it seems to be barely spurting out bubbles...just wondering if you'd experienced that at all?

Yes the bubbles will go away over time. My skimmer use to throw all kinds of bubbles into the tank until it got broken in. Took a few months. Now no bubbles at all. I got the bubble attachment for my skimmer because it also incorporated a surface skimmer.

But you could always just make one yourself if you're so inclined.

Yeah, the bubbles have subsided...took about a week
They still show up after I have my hands in the tank, but less and less now....the skimmer is breaking in, I think...
