Just like hair algae it can grow on coral and kill it. I had some and it just went away after time. You can pull it off the rock if you do not like it. Or if you like it just keep an eye on it.

It can quickly reach plague proportions I have a few bubbles in my 5.5 and so far no problems but be ready to aggressively start removing it if it really starts to spread

Get rid of it ASAP!!!!

I had some bubble algae in my first tank and thought it was really cool until it started popping up everywhere. Long story short, it helped destroy a reef tank that had been doing very well for 4 years. I eventually had to take the tank apart. 5 years later, I'm just now putting together another tank.

If you try to remove it manually, they kinda pop off of the rocks. Just be real careful not to let them burst in the tank, the spores are in the fluid inside the bubbles. I also had tried to get some emerald crabs to eat the bubble algae but they couldn't keep up with it
