aquapod 24 chiller ?

Well I went ahead and got the aquapod(gave anemone to friend with large tank). Gonna stick with corals. My problem is even with fans this tank stays warm. 84 most of the time. I use 20 oz frozen water bottles for the moment but I have to put them in main tank. Been looking at chillers and not sure how to go or if there is a better way of keeping this tank cool. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I keep my lid open and have a fan blowing across the top. Doesn't give me all the light that I think it could but my tank runs at 74-76. I do have about half agallon evaporation a day. Some one else might have a better idea. HTH

I am not sure how your system is setup exactly, but you could look into using one of these to chill your system

Thanks. Most chillers I found looked like they were for big tanks that looks like it work much better.

The only catch to it is that you have have to mount it in a bulkhead sized hole.

Yeah I saw that and trying to get better instructions on how it works. Cutting a hole in my tank is out of the question. Does anyone know how hot is too hot? I have seen so many different temp requirements.

Well rule of thumb is you don't want to go too much over 80. So if you are running 81, 82, 83 then that is high. I try to keep mine at 77-79.

Thanks. Gonna try just leaving lid up a little with my fan. I saw another chiller that looks like a filter but still have to figure how to use with the closed lid that the aquapod has.

I have a 12-gallon nano with the same heating issue - -I leave up the lid, use a small fan and it seems to keep it below 80 degrees. At least so far (summer is not here in Dallas yet)!

I know some of the chillers are made for nanos but drilling a hole in the tank isn't possible for me.

Yeah no drilling. Gonna go with ica. Its hot here. Even with ac going my 24 aqua is hitting 84 and ice bottles ugly. I think ica was origionally made for the nano tho.
