Any easy anemones?

I have a 16 gallon tank with two perculas and a bicolor pseudochromis, aragonite sand, a powerhead, good filtration and compact flourescent light. Although the tank is well established, there is no skimmer or sump, or live rock, and no corals. The three fish have done well now in the tank for 2-3 years.

Was wondering if anyone feels I could try an anemone of some sort and, if so, what type would you recommend?

Thanks.

I never really had luck with anenomes and fluor lights, I moved up to metal halides and my bubbletip anenome is doing great- just introduced a cinamon clown to the tank last night and he has already taken up residence in the bubble-

I think you need more light but I am by no means an expert!

From what I have read and heard, Anenomies require a TON of light (one person is having luck with 10.5 watts/gallon!) and special care. There are NO easy Anemonies that a Clown would host, but a Sebae is apparently the most hardy. Also, it is not recommended to have Anemonies and Corals together, since the Anemonies can move and get stung by sweeper tentacles. Check out these FAQ's , one which recommends using (one of two) specific host corals instead of anemonie:

http://www.wetwebmedia.com/clwnfshanefaqs.htm

Also, carefully read these FAQ's on Anemonies to determine if their difficulty level is really something you desire:

http://www.wetwebmedia.com/marine/in...ightngfaqs.htm

Finally, I've read that when Anemonies die, they can leave quite a mess - getting sucked up into pumps and spit out into a million (stinging/toxic) pieces.

Still want one? ;-)

I had a condylactus anemone that did very well under standard flourescents when I first started out, I traded him in after about a year thought because it ate several of my fish, Couldn't figure out where they we're going until I saw my mandarin half way in it's mouth one day. During that time frame it more than doubled in size, but like I said it was very aggressive and never stayed in on spot for more tha a few days at a time, Oh and they can also get very large. So other than that With my experience with anemones since then I'd have to say no. but that's just my opinion

Nope, there are no easy anemones; there are hard, difficult, practically impossible.

Read up with the links provided; most anemones should be kept in a species tank where their needs can be specifically addressed.
