Ammonia or PH?

which test would be more important in a 5 gallon tank?
im between ammonia and ph, my nitrite and nitrate seem to always be fine...
the reason i want to know is im thinking of buying a liquid test kit, but they are pricey and i only want to buy one

if nitrite is fine, then ammonia is fine.
pH is very important, get that one.

definitely test for pH more often. especially if you're like me; i tend to premix my water adding a pH buffer. then testing to see if it's acceptable for use.
