Question

algae grass how do I get rid of it


Hey guys and gals. I have a lot algae grass growing just on my rocks. Any way I can get rid of this stuff? It is starting to cover up my polyps.

Consentrate on export, syphon the sand, clean the filter (if you have one) blast the LR and crank the skimmer up. That plus a little manual export will work wonders.

I have the 12 gallon aquapod. About blasting the LR what about the rock where my polyps are?

what your explaining sounds like hair algae it is usuallyassociated with too much nutrient import and not enough export. you most likely have too many fish or not enough filtration or feed too much. you therefore have high nitrate and phosphate which act as algae fertilizer. add some hermit crabs(be sure to buy plenty of extra shells for it to move in to) about 5 or 6 should do unless you have alot of it then more.

also it would be a good idea to do a water change after blasting the rocks.
