Alage help

I have a 20 gallon long tank, right now i only have 6 1/2 pounds of live rock (for now im trying to save up money to get up to about 20 pounds) 4 turbo snails, 3 reef hermits, and a damsel in it. I change about 2 gallons of water every week, since i have no skimmer, but i have green alage growing on my live sand, it kind of looks like moss in a way. Can anyone tell me what it might be and how to get ride of it?

what kind of light? how long is it on a day?
Have you tested for nitrate and phosphate?
where does your water come from?
How long has the tank been set up?---- algae outbreaks are common in the first couple of months

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

what Brand of testing supp;lies are you using?
what are the actual numbers you are getting on tests for nitrate and phosphate?
what, how much and how often do you feed?

I highly reccomend using distilled or RO/DI water to do your water changes and top offs.

It is possible that all your numbers look good and its just part of the tank maturing but w/ tap water and no hard numbers on water params its hard to say
