A 1.5 gal 'experiment'
Oi!
I had a massive infestation of majonos in my 29 gal tank that I eventually took down.
I read in some other reefer site about a guy that had a small tank with LR sand some
hermits, etc. and did nothing but top off the water, change the water, lit it and nothing
else, nada, just wanted to sea if the tank would continue on it's own. He said that aster
two years it was still going without any 'food' added.
I started a 1.5 hex beta tank with some of the rock that still had corals on it [and mostly
covered with majonos] with a couple of the hermits and am doing the same thing.
It's been over 1 month and the cyno [that got bad because the little PH got clogged for
about 2 days {dumb}] is almost gone, the hermits are still wandering around and the
majonos are slowly dying off, but the corals are still alive.
It will be interesting to see how long this tank goes without any food added.
Has anyone else ever done this 'experiment'?
Cheers!
