6g Eclipse Tank Upgrades

Hi Everyone,

New to this website. I have a 6g Eclipse tank and wanted to do some lighting upgrades. I did a search and found that this was discussed back in 2005. Trying to find out what others have done.

Any help would be much appreciated

hey TREM52, welcome to TRT. There are a few diffrent kinds of MH "clip on" fiztures that woudl work:

There's one by Auqualight, AquaEuro. If you really look around you can find some. I'm getting ready to put one on my 8g biocube, probably the AquaEuro fixture 150w

Thanks for the responses. It might be hard to have a clamp on. the top of the Eclipse is an enclosure for the light and the filter. What would you suggest?

Ummm.......filter in the hood?!?! Well, if you have to figure something out using the existing hood, you may try: http://www.nanocustoms.com/ I don't think they have anything listed for teh eclipse, but they may be a good place to start, if you call them they may have some ideas......or one of there mods may work for eclipse.

Yeah, the eclipse has the filter in the hood - if it were me I would get rid of that top entirely, get a HOB Protien skimmer, or if you like mechanical filters then an HOB mechanical filter, and use a clip on lamp. I think this would be a great way to add more light to the tank, and at the same time your adding more cooling to help compensate for the added heat. Regi linked up a great light, there worth looking into.

Thanks...might be cheaper to upgrade to a BioCube to get better lighting and get a little bigger tank and the same time.
