3rd tank...29G cycling.

Ok, I'm on my 3rd tank and it's cycling after I jump started it w/ a dead salmon weeks ago. Ammonia went to 0 but Nitrite still up...a couple more weeks and it should be fine. I also added some of my ugly corals to check the water params...sadistic?

Tools:

Cpr Bakpak 2r
200 Watts Heater
4 Maxijet 900
Eheim Canister w/ liverocks only
2 Digital Thermometers
2 50/50 96watts actinic / 10K
5 watts moonlight
Fiji liverocks / Livesand

- I'm not running sump on this one due to not having enough space underneath. I regular maintenace should do the trick...water changes etc.

Tanks, tanks, and more tanks! What do you want to do with this tank?

I'm planning an SPS tank. I will install my halides as soon as the tank finished cycling. Small frags here and there...if they grow fast, ill transfer them to my 75G or maybe frag you some.

why start cycling from the beginning if you already have a 75g? Why not seed it with that tank water?

Actually I did use 60% of cycled water from 75G for this 29G and added some LFS water to equal things up. Liverock also cured and so as the sand but I wanted to really make sure that everything is OK. I'd rather risk it now than be sorry later where the tank is full w/ expensive corals. I just couldn't afford a tank crashing down on me.

So I'd rather wait and take my time as I always do.

Man, that looks like a rock slide waiting to happen. Are the rocks pretty stable?

Well...it is for now, but I will re-arrange every single rock when the time comes.

It looks good!Don't do to much rearangingyou'll mess the filtering again and have to waite to cycle again, because other area of the rock is covered up and some new area is out in the open.

3rd Tank Updates!

Finally finished cycling the 3rd tank. I went to the LFS to check some new stuff today and got my eyes on the yellow fiji leather. No hesitation...BAM!

I have some SPS lined up to populate this 3rd tank but I just couldn't resist the colorful smile of a yellow fiji leather.
