29 Biocube with hard corals.

Hi all.

I have a 29 gallon biocube with stock setup with a skimmer. I have been told and have had luck so far with all hard corals as long as I keep em within 5 or 6 inches from the surface. What I am currious about is am I just lucky cause how great My water is or is it the 40 pounds of rock and 30 pounds of sand that is doing it? All I keep hearing from most on here is ya have to change your lights.
