I've got a 250W MH over my 10. I'm keeping acros, porcillopras, montis, a few pink stars, an open brain, an orange plate, a frogpawn and a candycane. Everything has at least double or tripled in size over the year that I've been running the MH.

I have an open back hood and a computer fan blowing in, and I keep may tank at 82. Without a heater, my tank gets too cold with the light on. Until someone actually has a MH setup, I think they don't really have a proper reference for what bright light really is.

some People only hear what they want to hear.

most of the people on this board ( 2 of them have posted above) think unless you have mh, you are nothing, and you know nothing. I had MH, and they are too hot, unless you want clams or sps, why bother. Im not going to argue with the MH people, because it is a flat waste of time and energy.

People who want to share their views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

I never said that your tank wasn't good. I just said that it was inadvisable to put high light wandering stinging animals in there. Everything in your tank is fine and good looking except for the anemone.

My first nano was a 5 gallon with 2 9W PC lights. It worked great for mushrooms, but not much else. Then I had a 96W PC fixture over a 10 gallon, and it worked fine for softies and a candycane and a frogspawn, but not much else. Then I went to MH, and I can keep anything, but choose to no longer keep softies. It's all about what you want to keep.

I would agree that 24 watts isn't going to support that anemonie either. I would agree that you could keep it alive for some time, but it's not just about keeping it alive. You want it to thrive, and it's not going to thrive under that lighting, just slowly die. I read through both of the posts on NR as well and didn't see even one person say they have had one under that lighting more then a year. I would agree that you could maybe "get away with it" but that's not the goal, or at least it shouldn't be. I am not trying to flame or anything but I would agree that it isn't responsible reefkeeping to keep a rose anomenie under 24 watts of PC, even if it's 1 inch under the lights it's going to eventually die and most likely kill everything in the tank when it doesn (due to small volume).

There is are some nice upgrades that people do to those nano cubes. Another issue besides the lighting. Even if you had enough light to make that thing "thrive" it will soon outgrow that small of a tank.

Once again not trying to flame, just my $0.02 worth.

I think under that 24 watt light you could keep zoo's, shrooms and non photosynthetic animals. Otherwise I would upgrade it. Or just get a 10 gallon and a 96 watt pc, which is one of the most common nano setups I have seen.
