20 gallon long or 20 gallon extra high
hey all, I am new to this forum and this hobby, I want to start a nano reef and am looking for opinions on if i should get a 20 long or just use my 20 extra high that i have. any opinions will be greatly apreciated, please follow opinions with a reason. thanks in advance

how it is easier to light?you can buy a shorter fixture for the 20 high which=less money..and 17 inches high is not bad...-drew

the 20 gallon extra high is 24 inches not 17. it is like two 10's stacked on top of each other.

will i still be able to keep the same fish and inverts in a long? is 20 long a good size for a nano? i have a 2x24w light 24inch. will i still be able to use that?

I think long is better for fish more room to swim im in the process of making a 20long tank for frags and what not

Long is better for it's not as deep so you don't need as much light to reach the bottom,and fish can swim better in a longer tank.

can anyone tell me if this will be a good light for my new 20 long reef tank.
Coralife Aqualight Advanced Tank-Mount, 1- 150 W 14,000K HQI.

I think the extra high would look better, more unique, but it will be more expensive to light.

im a little late but ide say the 20 long too,
for lighting-
you could have a halide or 2
or 24inch t50s retro kit staggered over the tank

hey so im setting up 20g as well either a long or tall (17in) not sure yet but pretty much know what light i want to get for the long (Current 4x24w)but if i do the tall then that 6bulb fixture sounds pretty good do you know what site sells it i cant find anything 24in with more than 4 bulbs
