2.5 G Nano?

Brief history: Started w/ a 10G Nano, and a 10G sump...
grew quickly into a 75G tank w/ 20G sump...

Now, I'm wanting something small on my desk at the office. Lord knows I have so much free time there I want to "stare at the rocks and look for bugs". (grin, people think you are so crazy, till they see them too).

I have a small 2.5 G tank (cutest thing if you haven't seen them) and found a light fixture 36W, PC a 50/50 and an 03. Was consdering modifing my millenium HOB filter into a HOB refugium.

Coming into this with the full knowledge of daily water changes (silo cup to the rescue) and keeping the corals simple (mushrooms, xenia, etc) does anybody have any advice, have you done this before in such a small tank? Am I crazy?

Thanks.

I saw the base setup at WalMart for this size and thought about ugraded lighting and a water change once a week with a little HoB filter. This would be perfect for a Mantis or a FW blue lobster it looks like.

There is no way I am man enough to take on anything but possibly a softie or two and a couple clean up critters in something this puny though.

if you upgrade the lights a little you could softies, like button polyps and mushrooms, the maintenance would be pretty low

no fish=no poop

Those were some of my thoughts too... and as you probally well know, the thought process went... well, 2.5 G can work, but 10G would be more stable... and besides, I have a stand for it! Now, I can do this with the lights, this with the pump...etc. And from where I started with a quick and dirty $50 setup I'm back into the mix for $400,etc...

If you are in need of some 2.5 inpiration here ya go. This is my 2.5 gallon that I am going to be handing over to the G/f. I have a little bit of light on it, like about 32 watts. The tank overall looks great, and is in good health. If you need any help at all don't be afraid to ask.
