12gal Nano Skimmer Help

http://www.marineandreef.com/shoppro...on_skimmer.htm

I plan to buy Nano protein skimmer for my 12GAL NANO tank.

Anyone had experience with this Nano skimmer?

Does it really help?

How to install ?

Easy to operate?

Any input is apprecicated.

I tried it It is not worth it. Regular water changes will be much easier than messing around with a skimmer on a 12g tank especially that one

my nano started going down the crapper so I decided I was going to by one of those small skimmers. When I got to the store, the owner told me to simply take out all the filter media in the back and run an airstone. It acts in the same way a skimmer will, and will break up the phosphates. If you do this with weekly water changes, you should be better off then by a skimmer.

no... that is a load of balogna... get an aqua c remora if you want a good skimmer for your tank. otherwise you should keep the flow up and do weekly waterchanges.

With a tank that small, I was always under the assumption that the more compact everything is the better, by adding a skimmer you those that feature. Ever since I made the change that I talked about above, I've seen tremendous improvement in coral growth and water clarity. I'd much rather buy and air pump and stone vs. buying a skimmer that 1) may not work as well as larger skimmers do for larger tanks and 2) destroy the look of a "compact" nano.

I also have a 29g, which I use a 65f CSS on. I'm not saying skimming is a bad idea, I'm just saying there are other, perhaps more inventive/cheaper ways to get things done.

Just my experience

I have an aqua C remora on my eclipse 12 gal and it looks fine. I have included an attachment. Another suggestion would be to use the remora nano that they have out now.

Hello everyone.. my nano type is "closed type" .. not open tank. I can't use the external skimmer like yours.

Scyre
Can you please tell me in detail how you did to improve the tank without the skimmer? Thanks
