I am thinking of getting a 12 gal nano cube set and was wondering what varieties of fish I could keep in it. I will have a sb of about 2 " and about 20 lbs of liverock. could i fit at least 1 sail fin goby here?

Hey mollusk get the cube its pretty cool, but i would wait for the deluxe version. It has two 24 watt bulbs, two fans and a more powerful filter. I have a cube myself, its been up since aug 25 still cycling. For more info go to www.jbj.com

I have mine set up for 2 weeks, it took 3 days to cycle, however i was using precycled rock from my 75 gallon. you will not be able to get that much rock in that tank, the most would be 10lbs and 2 lbs in the back. I already have after 2 weeks with a+ water quality:

1 marron clown baby
1 neon goby
1 rose anemone

Frags:
large bright green zoos
bright orange and yellow zoas
1 green colt coral
1 colt coral
1 furry colt coral
1 toldstool mushroom
1 green mushroom
1 red mushroom
1 ricordia, blue/green
2 xenia
2 kenya tree
1 rasta leather
1 white finger leather

iadickie, do you have pics of your tank? Was also wondering, did you remove all the sponges in the tank or just some and which ones? What chamber did you put the rock in, the middle? Have you upgraded the pump and if so what size and brand? Last question, did you also add a small powerhead inside or do you have enough flow with the factory pump?

Anybody else that has these little 12g nano's please post ideas. I hope to get mine setup in a few weeks after I build a stand, the store bought stand I dont really care much for.

Thanks,

Thanks,
1.yes pm me ma an email address and ill send you pics
2. i left them in, i wash them 2 of them out every 2 weeks
3. sponges on the first side, then rubble, and pump.
4. stock pump, will upgrade to the 404 or the 606 minijet
5. i think the factory pump puts off plenty of flow, the mini jet is just a higherquality pump, and quieter.

I love my nano!

the pamplet says that if you plan on having a reef of any sort to take out the ceramic rings and bioballs because they can trap nitrates

on a side note, i just purchased one two weeks ago, took less than a week to cycle using cured premium marshall island, added a cleanup crew two days ago (2 turbo snails, one tequilla snail, two snaseaus (sp) snails, three small hermit crabs, and a cleaner shrimp) soon im going to be adding another 32w pc 50/50, then some zoo's, shrooms, polyps. fish wise ill prolly be adding either a true or false perc and a firefish goby
